This workshop is designed to help understand the process of becoming a Nevada State Licensed Intern as well as the requirements you'll need to meet before becoming fully licensed. This is especially valuable to those nearing the end of their masters program and approaching graduation. Dr. Smith will review the steps, the timing, and some recent changes to the process both administrative and legislative. Don’t get overwhelmed by background checks, deadlines, forms, and finding a supervisor-- this is your opportunity to learn all the details.

The workshop will be an introduction in perinatal mental health (pregnancy and postpartum) designed to help understand the signs of Postpartum Depression in fathers and will provide a better understanding of the variety of factors that contribute to PPD in families. We will also discuss evidence-based therapeutic practices therapists can use to help their male clients and clients' partners cope with and manage symptoms associated with PPD.

Therapists will leave with knowledge of ethical issues in working with transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in addition to a greater understanding of increased suicide risks and unique considerations to discuss prior to the inpatient hospitalization.
