Melisa Celis- MFT Student Therapist

Melisa Celis is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their experiences and emotions. She believes in meeting each client where they are and tailoring interventions to fit their unique needs and goals.

With a passion for fostering resilience and healing, Melisa works with individuals, couples, and families to address life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, stress, and addiction. She has experience working with people who struggle with substance use disorders and understands the importance of compassionate, strengths-based support. Her approach is collaborative and informed by evidence-based practices, including narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness strategies.

As the child of immigrants, Melisa brings a culturally sensitive perspective to her clinical work, recognizing the importance of honoring each client’s background, values, and story. In addition to her internship, she works full time as a school counselor, supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

Outside of her clinical work, Melisa enjoys working out, spending time with her dogs, traveling, and trying new restaurants. She values connecting with her community and finding new ways to support mental health advocacy.
